Þegar ég vinn þessar vatnslitamyndir er einn útgangspunkturinn að reyna að koma til skila ávæningi um árstíð og tíma dags. Þetta er hefðbundna nálgunin og í sjálfu sér ekkert nema gott um hana að segja nema hvað stundum skolast eitthvað til í vinnslunni og þá getur stemmning frá snemmbúnum vormorgni hæglega komið út eins og hauströkkrið sé við það að síga yfir. Ef ég get vísað til staðarins í heiti myndarinnar bjargar það stundum (en þó bara fyrir staðkunnuga). Stöku sinnum er þá lendingin sú að nefna myndina því sem ætti að vera augljóst.

// When I work on these aquarelles from nature one of the premises is to convey a notion of season and time of day. This is the traditional approach and nothing but good to be said of it except that sometimes the work does not proceed as planned and an atmosphere of an early spring morning can easily come across as if autumn dusk is advancing. Sometimes I can refer to the place in the name given to the picture (this however only assists those who know the lay of the land). In other instances I resort to stating what should be obvious.
