Fór með Tóta í gær í Verkfæralagerinn að kaupa rafsuðupinna. Með hann sinnti þeim erindum fór ég í hina ótrúlega stóru myndlistardeild sem verslunin býður upp á (segi ótrúlega því vissulega er þetta svoldið skemmtilegt kombó). Rakst þar á Winsor & Newton vatnslitaarkir (300 g) á góðu verði og ákvað að festa mér þær þótt ég sé yfirleitt meira fyrir Arches pappír (eins og áður er komið fram á blogginu). Prófaði örk þegar heim var komið og frammistaða pappírsins kom á óvart. Hann heldur rakanum lengi og það hentar mér ágætlega. Greinilegur textúr teiknar sig þegar liturinn seytlar í gegnum pappírinn eins og sjá má á línunni sem ætlað er að gefa til kynna múlana yfir Mýrunum. Leyfði línunni að vera svona þótt hún sýni kannski ekki alveg hvernig ísaldarjökullinn hefur sorfið skallana á hálsunum.

//  Went yesterday with Tóti to the Verkfæralagerinn (hardware outlet) where he wanted to buy some electric welding pins. While he was going about his stuff I went to the incredibly big art material section in the shop (to call it incredible is also to say that this combo is somewhat unique). While browsing I can upon some Winsor & Newton watercolour sheets (300 gms) which were decently priced so these were bought in spite of my preference for Arches paper. Back at the house I made a test and the performance of the paper turned out to be very satisfactory indeed. It holds moisture well which suits me. Its texture shows when the colour seeps through the paper as can be seen in the somewhat ragged line which is intended to convey the rolling hills over the Mýrar in West Iceland. I allowed the line to stay this way although it does no do full justice to the ice age glaciers which once polished the hilltops.
